Cheap Hotels in Venice - the Reiter Hotel

Cheap Hotels in Venice - the Reiter Hotel

If you are looking for cheap hotel in Venice, the 2 star Reiter Hotel, hotel or hostel, might be the place for you.  It is very basic, (what you’d expect for cheap accommodation in Venice) and clean enough for your lodging requirement to suit your budget. It is priced from $27.88 per night or 30.00 € for a twin.

Centrally located, about 10 minutes by boat from the Piazzo San Marco, the ferry leaves about every 10 minutes.  The Reiter Hotel is situated in the main shopping district in the Lido where you will find restaurants, tourist shops, and grocery shops.  A handy budget idea is to eat here at restaurants on the Lido where it is cheaper than on the mainland. You will have to take a ferry which takes about 20 minutes to get to the mainland.

The rooms are small, like most of the cheap hotels in Venice, a bit crowded by large furniture.  However, you can book a larger double if you are willing to pay more for your hotel room.  It all depends on how much you have budgeted for your hotel accommodations in Venice.  Rooms are clean and basic, but you notice some water stains in the corners of the ceilings, a common problem in Venice due to the humidity and proximity to the sea.  The bathrooms you will find are spacious and come with amenities such as soap, shampoo, towels, and a hairdryer.  There are also TVs in your hotel room but no refrigerator.  Some rooms come with a balcony/windows.  Note, there is no elevator in the hotel.  Breakfast is not included in the price of your room.  There is also free high speed internet to use for your convenience.

If you can’t find a room at the Reiter Hotel, they will suggest their sister hotel, the Villa Parco which is nearby with prices starting at $25 per night.  The hotel staff speaks a bit of English and are quite friendly.  The Reiter Hotel would classify more as a good hostel rather than a hotel.  It’s nice enough.  It’s bland, basic, not exactly charming, but it depends how much time you are going to spend in your hotel room and, if you want to see all of Venice, I predict you are not going to be spending a lot of time in your cheap hotel room in Venice.

I thought I’d write about three cheap hotels Venice to start off with that you might be interested in.  Two of these hotels are 2 star hotels and the other hotel is a 1 star hotel.  There is always so much to see in Venice, especially since it might be your first time or your 10th time visiting the city of Venice.  You probably won’t be spending that much time in your hotel room because there is so much to see.  And, if you are like many people, you’re on a budget, or perhaps you are backpacking in Europe and you just want to stay in a cheap hotel in Venice Italy because you are looking for a hotel which fits into your budget.

The first hotel I was going to write about is the Nuova Locanda Belvedere Hotel, one of the 2 star hotels I was mentioning earlier in this article.  This is a good, inexpensive hostel in a great location in safe neighbourhood in Marghera just a 5 minute walk from the train station.  So it’s central, close to all the tourist attractions in Venice.  The buses are also nearby so it’s really convenient.

The rooms go from about $24.00 per night and amenities included with your hotel room include hot running water, a small common room and a deck, private bathrooms, mini fridge, free parking.  There is wireless internet available for an extra charge. Note:  there is no kitchen.  If you can afford it, book a private room.

Another cheap hotel in Venice is the Hotel San Samuele which is a 1 star hotel.  Rooms here start at $44 a night.  Again, this hotel is in a good location, 10 minutes from St. Mark’s Square, the Rialto Bridge, Accademia galleries, Palazzo Grassi museum and the market. The neighbourhood is a quiet place with typical Venetian surroundings.

The Hotel San Samuele has small rooms, is very clean and the staff are friendly.  If you need a larger room, you can book ahead for one.

A 2 star hotel, the Villa Parco is a cozy little hotel in a safe location on one of the islands of Venice.  You will need to take a boat to get to this discount hotel in Venice which takes about 45 minutes.  It is one kilometre from the Lido Boat station.  It will take you about 10 minutes to get to St. Mark’s Square.  You will be staying close to the Casino, and the beach.  For a rate of $25 per night, you get a clean, nice room.

All rooms at the Villa Parco hotel have a private bath/shower, a TV, a mini-bar, central heating, air conditioning, telephone.  The price does not include your breakfast.

These are three of the cheap hotels in Venice you might consider staying in on your vacation in Venice.  Most of the guests who have stayed in these hotels were extremely pleased with their experiences while staying at these cheap hotels in Venice.  You can book online for any of these good cheap hotels in Venice at various websites.
