Drawbacks:  There aren’t a lot of drawbacks to staying at the Hotel Martello, if you don’t mind walking to visit restaurants, the shops and the sites.  Of course, though, you will be walking because you are in Venice after all.  However, the guests who stay here are happy with the value of the hotel for the money, the cleanliness of the hotel, the big rooms and the services provided by the enthusiastic staff.  However, you should not be worried about the location because most is in walking distance and the area is safe.

Value for money, Hotel Martello, a two star hotel,  is one of the better cheap hotels in Venice.  If you can’t afford a luxury hotel in Venice, at least try staying at something safe, clean and nice enough.  Again, while in Venice, how much actual time will you spend in your hotel room?  Clean and great staff.  Be sure while in Venice to take some side trips to Padua  and Treviso – which is breathtaking and the islands of Murano.  So much to see and do in Venice.

This is a charming little 1 star hotel in Venice owned by a friendly couple. From $46.00 US per night – one of the cheapest hotels in Venice and a great deal for a budget hotel.  It is clean, basic, and has a little bit of charm for the excellent price.  The reception area is very nice with big wooden beams.  The rooms are a good size and have been recently renovated.  There are 10 rooms with beamed ceilings, with private ensuite bathrooms and four rooms with shared bathrooms.  There is a stone stair case, but no elevator.  All rooms are air conditioned and come with basic amenities such as towels, hair dryers, safe for your valuables, TV and a coffee and tea machine.  There are disabled facilities, 24 hour room service, and pets are allowed. The reception area is also open 24 hours a day and service is available in English, French and Hungarian.

Continental breakfast, though nothing spectacular, is served in the garden patio which becomes a covered patio in the colder seasons of the year.  Breakfast is included in the price of your hotel room at the Hotel Ariel Silva.
